About Rebecca McLaughlin
In her bio, Rebecca describes her focus: "Two things have always fascinated me: the power of words and the message of the gospel. I love exploring the message of Jesus with broken people (all of us), and I long to be part of the rediscovery of the Christian faith as an intellectual movement."
The theme of the conference—engaging others with the gospel—aligns well with Rebecca’s gifts and training. With a Ph.D. in English literature from Cambridge, she has devoted her life to answering tough questions about the Christian faith and equipping others to do the same.
Rebecca, married to her husband for 17 years, has been honest about her struggle with same-sex attraction and how she chooses by the power of the Spirit to follow God's design for sexuality. This has led her to write many articles and publish several podcasts on the topic. She has also authored several books, including Does the Bible Affirm Same-Sex Relationships?, in which she argues that the Bible does not affirm same-sex relationships, and points instead to gospel purpose of male-female marriage.
Rebecca lives in Cambridge, MA with her husband, Bryan, and their three children.
